HOT DOG 2006 EVENT SUMMARY - First and foremost we want to take the opportunity to thank Msgr. John Demkovich and St. Mary's R.C. Parish for allowing us the use of the auditorium. We want to thank the following for their generous donations towards our event:
The Lucianin Family - donated the Cooked Onions
Mr. Ralph Cuellar / Shoprite of Passaic - Hot Dog Rolls, Soda, and Ice.
The Midtown Grill of Clifton, NJ - Donated the Chili Sauce - Owners Jerry and Jimmy
Acme Foods Inc. of Passaic, NJ - Donated 2 Boxes of French Fries
The Parker Family - 2 large sheet cakes.
I would like to thank all those who helped set up the auditorium the night before in anticipation of our 85th Anniversary and 100th Birthday Celebration for John Sotak. Thank you to the entire kitchen staff for preparing all the food for our event. (Carlo Comito, Mike Carney, Mary, Joe, Jerry Pigan, Matt Kudla and all the scouts who helped serve. Thank you to Joseph Billy our Master of Ceremonies. We want to thank Msgr. John Demkovich and Jimmy Vivinetto for playing the music. Kudos also to George Fedor who helped check in all our supporters at the door. If we missed out any names please let us know. Once again it was a huge success and we thank everyone. A big thank you to all of our supporters who donated towards our raffle and the donation of the 50 /50 raffle back to our troop by Mr. Ronald Van Rensalier. Please continue to support our sponsors who helped make our event a successful one this year.
This year we had a total of 235 people attend our event and we hope that next year we can raise that number to 300. Please continue to visit our troop site for continuous updates and photos of our hot dog event.
The money that we raised at our event will help pay for our future trips planned for the 2006 Scouting year along with Summer Camp 2006. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT!

Boy Scout Troop 1 will be
honoring Assistant Scoutmaster Jerry Gonzalez on Monday, May 22, 2006.
He is being awarded the Silver Beaver Award, the highest Adult Award in
Scouting. The event will be held at the Wayne Manor in Wayne, NJ. For

The Silver Beaver Award was established
in 1931 and is presented for distinguished service to young people
within a local Boy Scouts of America Council. It is the highest award
which may be presented by a local council. A recipient must be a
registered adult member of the Boy Scouts of America. The Northern New
Jersey Boy Scout Council salutes the commitment and hard work of these Scouters! |
Boy Scout Troop 1's Annual Hot Dog Event was a hit once again. We want to thank each and everyone who came out and supported the members of Boy Scout Troop 1. We will celebrate 85 years as a Unit in the City of Passaic. Our troop's birthday celebration will be held in April 2006 during our annual hot dog event. Stay tuned for more details. Scoutmaster Dave will be honored once again on Thursday, May 27, 2004 at the Sevilla Restaurant in Passaic @ 7 PM where he will be given award on behalf of the Optimist Club of Passaic for his outstanding services and commitment to serving the youth of the City of Passaic. Thursday, May 20, 2004 - District Dinner at the Mountainside Inn in Clifton, New Jersey. - Members of Boy Scout Troop 1 would like to congratulate our Scoutmaster, David Ovejero who was honored with another prestigious award from the Northern New Jersey Boy Scout Council. He was awarded Scoutmaster of the Year Award for all of his heart felt dedication to serving the youth of the City of Passaic. Thank You and congratulations.

We would like to thank the members who came out and helped clean up the Great Notch Trail at Garrett Mountain. The trail is maintained by members of the NYNJTC and our troop members had the opportunity to hike the 3-1/2 mile loop while learning and taking compass readings. The hike was held on Saturday, March 13, 2004.

HOT DOG UPDATE!!!!!!!!! I would like to thank all
of those who came out last night and supported the members of Boy Scout
Troop 1 in Passaic. I was so overwhelmed to see so many people in the
crowd. I also want to thank the kitchen staff who did a fabulous job
cooking the french fries, hot dogs, and all the preparation. I also want
to thank Mary Ellen Gabay and her family for donating the cakes, cupcakes,
cookies. I would like to thank the President Supermarket, Ralph Cuellar
for donating the beautiful cake. Awards that were presented to our Scoutmaster of 35 years were the following:
