Patrol Point System
Purpose of Patrol Point System:
The purpose of a patrol point system is to show recognition to an outstanding patrol and to encourage competition among the patrols in the troop.
I Attendance
A. Troop and patrol meetings
100 % of patrol present .15 pts.
75% of patrol present 10 pts.
50% of patrol present ..5 pts.
B. Troop and patrol Hikes
100% of patrol present ..15 pts.
75% of patrol present 10 pts.
C. Special Scouting Events / Activities
100% of patrol present ...15 pts.
75% of patrol present .10 pts.
D. Uniformed Patrol At all scout functions
100% of Patrol full dress uniform ..10 pts.
75% of Patrol full dress uniform ..5 pts.
II Advancement
A. a new skill learned in the handbook and signed off 5 pts.
B. Each new merit badge obtained in patrol ..10 pts.
C. Each new rank obtained in a patrol ...15 pts.
III Competition
First Place 15 pts.
Second Place 10 pts.
Third Place .5 pts.
IV Special Recognition
For especially interesting features at troop meetings or hikes, outstanding patrol projects, community service etc. The Scoutmaster may award at his discretion ..up to 100 pts.
V. Troop Leaders Council
A. Each patrol leader must have a prepared report of his patrol progress to be presented at the council meeting. The report should be a 3 minute report and a copy should be submitted as part of the minutes for the meeting.
B. Patrol leader is responsible for adequately representing his patrol at meetings. He must be able to plan and organize meetings, hikes, special events, etc. As a member of the Troop Leaders Council.
C. Patrol Leaders along with the Senior Patrol Leader and Scoutmaster (or his representative) will conduct progress review boards for tenderfoot, second class and first class progress awards.
